Nine Tones of Chinese is an exhibition with interesting features of the Cantonese culture in Singapore. Dialect plays a huge role in Singapore heritage. While the education system tries to maintain Chinese's mandarin standard, younger generations today are slowly loosing touch with dialects and this will further widen intergeneration gap.
Posters to advertise the event, drawing the key features - history, rituals & food.
A small booklet is given to guide the visitors as they go by the exhibition, it also highlights the key informations for them to read on their own.

What if my kids can't communicate with my parents?" I have wondered. Personally, I love Chinese - its' language, culture, food & design, so working on this project was a fun one from the beginning. This was also a good chance for me to learn more Canto words, though i have to admit that it was challenging not being a Cantonese myself. All in all, i'm grateful for this project, would do it all over again.
